Intro Blog

 

I'm Aurelianeel Allen, a 10th grader at Fort Lauderdale Highschool. Welcome to my blog. Despite not having any prior experience in media classes, I decided to enroll in AICE Media Studies. I've always been interested in what makes different medias have more of an impact than others. Whether it's a sad or happy ending, some medias continue to linger in your brain. Some make you question your reality or your morals. It piqued my interest since there were so many unknowns and questions. Recently, I even began wanting to learn how to make them myself.

I've been playing video games all my life. Interacting with others, completing tasks together, trying to solve a murder and more. Regardless of the task or goal, they have always been fun to me. I've also been watching anime since I was a toddler. I didn't know back then that it was made in Japan. As I began growing up, I learned more and more about Japan and their culture through the shows. I also started to notice that not everyone on the games were from my country. This made me realize that media can be used as a communication tool. It allows the creators to show off their creativity while giving the audience something to enjoy. It can bring people together even though they have different backgrounds. It's something all ages can enjoy, it can come in many different forms and is everywhere. Naturally, once I came to the realization, I wanted to know more about it. I hope to have a great year learning about media, how it can be used, how to make it myself and whatever else comes with the opportunity.
